I have been teaching lampshades for many years and following many requests from students, I am running this workshop again. The simple drum lampshade is the easiest one to make and I will take you through the skills and tools needed. This workshop is suitable for anyone wishing to learn for pleasure or business.
You will be able to make either a 20cm or 30cm lampshade and we will also have kits available to purchase on the day for you to take home and make more lampshades.
You will need to bring approximately half a metre of fabric with you, a few basic haberdashery items such as scissors, tape measure etc and we will supply the remaining materials. You will be inspired to go home and make lots more lampshades! No sewing experience required.
We also advise you to bring a large plastic bag to take your lampshade safely home in please.
There will be a range of fabrics that we use available to purchase on the day. We offer a wide selection of fabrics from British designers such as Peony and Sage, Sarah Hardaker, Kate Forman, Cabbages & Roses, Emily Bond, Vanessa Arbuthnott and many more. If you are looking for fabric inspiration, would like to order fabric ready for the workshop, or have a particular design in mind, please get in touch at least 2 weeks before the workshop.
If you are interested in getting a group of friends together for a fun day or would like to arrange an enjoyable craft ‘get together’ for a hen party, and you would love to learn to make a beautiful lampshade, then please do get in touch.
Dates: Saturday 7th April 2018
The workshop runs from 9.30 am to 12.00. Further details will be sent to you with confirmation of your place.
