Hello Summer!

I can’t believe that it has been so long since I last opened this notebook despite my resolution in January to post regular updates! So much for New Year resolutions!

We may have been a little quiet but well, it has been an incredibly busy year so far, with so many lovely orders from you and lots of change in 2017 too.  We have some exciting plans ahead.

I am no longer teaching at The Lilac Barn near Taunton, where I have held my workshops for 12 years and where I have met so many amazing students along the way.  Over the past few months I have looked back and reflected, as human nature guides us when we are faced with changes, and I cannot believe that it has been 12 years, where have the years gone!

However, like everything in life, I was shown some new opportunities which developed and I believe that life presents us with new challenges to test us and to guide us in life. And when your gut instinct is saying ‘grab them with open arms’, I tend to listen!  My last workshop at the ‘Lilac Barn’ was at the end of May and it was a lovely weekend, with a group of amazing ladies working incredibly hard on their bespoke lampshades.  I will always remember so much laughter and fun during that weekend, it was truly amazing. And what was so special is that across one weekend in May, a lovely group of ladies developed a great friendship and still keep in touch with their ‘lampshade adventures!’

And now, I am so very excited to spread my wings, with lots of plans quietly in the background, and developing my creative workshops more.  We have been working on lots of new and exciting ideas and some ‘new’ workshops in the pipeline too…. more details to follow soon but watch this space.

Meanwhile, we have just published new Autumn 2017 dates for your two favourite workshops: Curtains, Cushions & Blinds, and Tailored & Pleated Traditional Lampshades. We are using a lovely local venue just outside Langport in Somerset, a lovely historic old building with so much character and history and lots of parking outside the door!  This is so important when students are packing up their precious new furnishings at the end of the day, which they have spent many hours creating!

So please have a look on the Workshop page for more details of these workshops and please keep an eye on the website for more updates.  As with all my workshops, places are limited to 6 students to allow each student individual attention, so I would recommend booking early to secure your place!
